Surprise to me: sweet cream coffee creamer tastes like evaporated milk. I remember way back when I was a child my grandmother gave me coffee loaded with sugar and canned evaporated milk. At the time I thought it was very awesome. Of course, I still remember it today, over sixty years later. It was a new taste treat, and was something I knew my parents would never give me at home.

My grandmother also showed me how she made peach cobblers (which were insanely delicious). She made pie crust (all via intuition without measuring cups). Then she lined a big oblong glass baking pan with the pie crust, added big cans of peaches with sugar syrup, added more sugar just for fun I suppose, then topped it all with little pats of butter. On top of that she added another layer of pie crust with holes sliced into it. Into the oven it went - I'm guessing, for probably an hour. That was the best dessert ever. (Note to anyone who tries this: I may have forgotten something, like putting melted butter on top of the upper pie crust. Proceed with caution.)

Heavenly Father, You know I'm not much of a cook, but I have some great cooking memories anyway. I have known some great cooks. Lucky me. Thank you Father, for those experiences. I pray I may someday have a kitchen to cook in again. That would be amazing. Lord, bless my efforts and bless my loved ones. May we all be richly blessed with a good home. Lord guide me throughout all the rest of my years. Help me to be a good grandma and mom and friend. And as for today, inspire me with what must be done and guide me to get it done, and give me the strength, and relief from the pain of plantar fasciitis. Thank you for loving me and my loved ones Lord. Bless and help heal those people in our community who are in pain, emotionally hurting, or experiencing addictions. I ask you to send your loving angels and Holy Spirit throughout our neighborhoods to seek out and heal the lost. Lord they need you, just as I need you, and I pray for their well-being and salvation. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
