Here's some good news. Mid-day naps can lower blood pressure and reduce risk of heart attack by 5 percent. *
I'm all in favor of napping! I do it frequently.
Maybe too frequently.
In fact, during the last few months I've felt tired more often than ever before. But I've found a solution.
No, not the naps... though I've had a few of them. Maybe, more than a few.
My solution came in a box from Amazon earlier this week. It is a jar of Pure Synergy Powder.
Now, I've purchased a lot of food supplements in my lifetime, but I've never felt such immediate positive results as I have with this super-food powder. It is amazing. I'm seriously energetic. No more exhaustion!
I'm not just writing this to try to sell something. I really mean it. I feel so much better!
Let me try to explain this to you.
During the last few months I've frequently felt tired most of the day. I had a few good hours in the morning, and then by 1pm, mid-day lag overtook me to the point where I seriously couldn't do my work. The only choice I had was to take a nap.
But in the four days I've been using the Pure Synergy Powder, I've recovered. It started on the very first day, and I still haven't worked up to a full dose yet. (It must be started slowly.) Here it is, past 4pm, and I'm still going strong. Able to think, able to work, able to write, able to cope. I love it.
I was on the phone with a friend a few minutes ago. He said he's been feeling exhausted for the last few months too. I wonder if we have some kind of societal health problem here. How many others have felt too much exhaustion lately?
I wish I could buy my friend some Pure Synergy Powder too, but here's the drawback. This stuff is expensive. I paid a bit over fifty dollars for 12 ounces, which is about a month's supply. I can't get into buying this for everyone who could benefit from it.
Come to think of it, my daughter also complained about being too tired lately too. I'm more likely to buy her a jar. She's a working woman and needs a health boost.
My friend asked me why I would buy such an expensive super-food powder. I told him that this comes from part of my food budget. It is easy to go to the grocery store and spend over 100 dollars without thinking much of it. I will reduce my spending on foods that aren't all that good for me and put that money into my health and well-being.
Using the powder is easy. I put it into a jar with about a cup of water, then put on the lid and shake the jar. It blends, I drink, and that's all there is to it. The taste isn't the most wonderful thing, but it isn't all that bad either. I don't gag on it.
Some people put the powder in orange juice, or breakfast smoothies. Some sprinkle it on their salad. Me? I'll just take it straight for now. I'm so grateful to have it.
Anyhow, if you want to recover from exhaustion, napping helps... but my opinion is that Pure Synergy Powder is better.
I'd like to do both, and I'm about to go take a nap. Why not? I work at home. I set my hours. I can take a nap if I want to. And it is good for my heart and blood pressure, so I'm all in.

Lemonade Diet and Going Vegan
My chances for getting health insurance are slim, so I'm taking chargeof my own health by doing the master cleanse lemonade diet. I'm currently on day ten of a fast thatwill last until my tongue turns pink, 30 days, or I cave - whatevercomes first.
I'm not at all hungry today. Lemonade is a terrific appetite suppressant and I'm feeling just fine energetically and mentally. They say by day ten I should be having mental clarity, and I'm kind of still waiting for improvement because I've been feeling more focused and clear in my thinking all along.
The cleanse removes toxins from the system, and pushes the re-set button on life so that we can make drastic life changes. For me, the big change will be going from vegetarianism to veganism . . . plus gluten free.
Recently I read an illuminating book about wheat - call "Wheat Belly" by Dr. William Davis. What an eye-opener. He's helped hundreds of his patients morph into gluten-less diets and they've lost weight and had other impressive health benefits. I have to try it!
Going vegan has been a long-time goal of mine. Every time I got close I'd fall back into the egg and cheese eating vegetarian diet, and I'm determined at this time to give those up. Well, I already gave them up to do the master cleanse lemonade diet. After ten days I'm sure all food addictions have been broken. Now I just need to be strong and truly change my eating habits and learn a new way of cooking - all vegan! I'll be incorporating a lot of raw foods along the way.

Mommy Angst
I've been informed by my daughter (age 16) that I'm in big trouble because I'm not perfect (let me count the ways) - obviously an occupational hazard when you're a MOM.
Mea Culpa Baby.
My shortcomings of the day: (1) mentioned that she consumes more than 50% of the ice cream locally whereas she accounts for only 25% of the local consumers, and (2) didn't buy enough when I went to the grocery store. Gee, I didn't have much to spend - could that have anything to do with it?
Now that I've been put in my place by the 16-year-old expert who also believes I should leave my dh because he doesn't do enough around the house... I think I'll have a party. (Looks like a pity-party to me. Please forgive me.)
Yesterday was my oldest child's 32nd birthday. Yes, that means I've been doing the motherhood thing for 32 years and I'M NOT PERFECT YET. Well excuuuuuse me. I think I need to give it up and retire. My youngest will be 15 on June 1. Yay.
I put a "Happy Birthday to Joshua" on my Coast to Coast AM Weblog.

Thanksgiving
We had a great dinner yesterday. It was just the four of us... me, Keith, and my two teenagers, but my daughter and I had a lot of fun cooking it together, and Keith and Aaron helped the day before by cleaning the house. Because everyone helped prepare for Thanksgiving, everyone turned out being happy about the dinner. Besides, it was great food. The turkey, dressing, everything turned out great. We had two kinds of salad, two kinds of potatoes.. and so much more. We even made two homemade pumpkin pies. Now we're looking forward to making a Christmas dinner that's even better.

Fish? Or Miner's Lettuce and Pine Needles?
Today is my youngest child's 14th birthday.
He just got back from a fishing trip. Now, there's something I never wanted to do. Fish. Something about the look of dead fish doesn't seem appetizing to me. But to each his own.
I was happy he went fishing with his friends.. and one of the friends' father. Out of the group, my son is the only one who doesn't know his father. Its not like we mope around being sad about that all the time, but I thought it was way-cool that he got to go on a fishing trip with someone else's father so he could see what it was like.
I also am happy he's learning to get food. The way the world's going, he might need that skill for survival someday. If he can go to a lake, kill a fish and eat it he would be more likely to live through disaster than someone like me who would try surviving on miner's lettuce and pine needles.

Diet, Weight, and Exercise ... All That
My diet is not going well. I have taken off and put back on the same five pounds since the middle of September. I think the reason is that I bought a new aerobics video, the four mile version of Walk Away the Pounds, and due to using that a lot, I've been developing muscles. I may feel better, but I'm not losing weight. I'm certain if I keep trying, eventually I will.
I'm considering switching to the Atkins diet plan for a while (low carbs). I've been doing a low-calorie plan since last summer and lost 30 pounds... at one time was down 35 pounds. Well, its time to cut the carbs!

Diet Success
The diet continues. I've been eating too much this week but last Monday I had a good weigh-in - down 5.5 pounds. That came after weeks of being on a plateau with my weight going up and down by a few pounds. My total lost is now 35 pounds. I'm so relieved to be losing weight. I'm glad I turned it around when I did.
