Life's Annoying... Fight Back!

Here's a fascinating look at the reality of American life and what to do about it... No Need to Stew: A Few Tips to Cope With Life's Annoyances.

This reminds me of the time my mother opened the door to a children's book salesman. For some reason door-to-door salesmen irritated her beyond belief. The young man at the door shoved a large book in front of her and said, "You can have this free..."

She grabbed the book, said "Thank you" and shut the door.

The salesman stood outside trying to tell her the book was free only if she bought something but she wasn't impressed.

"That'll teach him," she said.

Hey Mom... do you remember that as clearly as I do? I'm still laughing at your audacity to this day.

Mommy Angst

I've been informed by my daughter (age 16) that I'm in big trouble because I'm not perfect (let me count the ways) - obviously an occupational hazard when you're a MOM.

Mea Culpa Baby.

My shortcomings of the day: (1) mentioned that she consumes more than 50% of the ice cream locally whereas she accounts for only 25% of the local consumers, and (2) didn't buy enough when I went to the grocery store. Gee, I didn't have much to spend - could that have anything to do with it?

Now that I've been put in my place by the 16-year-old expert who also believes I should leave my dh because he doesn't do enough around the house... I think I'll have a party. (Looks like a pity-party to me. Please forgive me.)

Yesterday was my oldest child's 32nd birthday. Yes, that means I've been doing the motherhood thing for 32 years and I'M NOT PERFECT YET. Well excuuuuuse me. I think I need to give it up and retire. My youngest will be 15 on June 1. Yay.

I put a "Happy Birthday to Joshua" on my Coast to Coast AM Weblog.

The cats are inside now

Ever since my black cat disappeared right after Christmas I've made all my other cats stay indoors every night. They don't like that. They want to roam... and tonight when my boyfriend came in the two male cats ran outside.

I went out to get Sabrina. I can call her and she comes in as fast as she can get here. But then Mocha ran back outside after I'd already brought him in. I kept trying to get Socks and Mocha inside but they wouldn't come.

Then I asked my boyfriend to get a can of catfood. As soon as he came out on the porch and popped up that lid, both male cats emerged from the shadows and ran up on the porch. Yes, my boyfriend sure has a talent for getting cats to go inside.

I changed my mind

Wouldn't you know it?

Once I wrote something about not having archives here - I changed my mind. I also decided to put the site back on blogspot.

Why am I like this?

Archives

Who needs them? I don't have any here - you might notice that if you really loved my writing and wanted to read me all day. But how many people really want to do that? Probably not very many - other than maybe my mom. I sorta hope she has better things to do.

Yes, there's some blogs that tell a long-term story of someone's life that is morbidly fascinating... something deserving a few hours reading time. But those weblogs are rare... and this isn't one of them.

So, no archives.

FOUND Magazine

I found this site to be fascinating. It's an opportunity to look closely at little bits of the private lives of others.

On second thought...

Right after I wrote about my frustration with not getting the sheriff's office reports, I started getting them. Yay! Now I feel my news site is a better service to my community.

Today I'm buying a few new domain names from GoDaddy - and downloading the first program - now in the archives at GoDaddy Radio. Seems like everyone wants to get into internet radio these days. I want to do a show on family rights... but don't have the right equipment yet. My computer is so old I'm using Win98SE - it's a Pentium III and I want to upgrade to something more capable of handling internet radio production.

My new domain names are all about bigfoot. Why? Because I live in a place where bigfoot is a big issue because there's so many sightings around here. I am the new owner of BigfootSightings.Org, BigfootHunt.Com, and BigfootJamboree.Com. The last one is a local celebration held every Labor Day weekend... sort of a local faire where there's lots of events and vendors.

This year my daughter signed up to sell Bigfoot Jamboree Raffle Tickets. I'm planning to put a paypal link up somewhere for her to sell them online.

Yesterday she and I went to Yreka for a doctor appointment (hers) and then we went to Medford so she could spend her birthday money at the mall there. Her birthday isn't until April 20 (she'll be 16) but she couldn't wait and I caved in and gave her what she wanted early. It seems I'm the only one in my household that sees value in waiting for the official birthday. Anyhow, we had a great day in Oregon and were very happy to get home just before midnight. The only animal I saw on our way home through the forest was a small rabbit. Seems strange there's so few deer the last year or two.
