A Word About Veils

I'd like to wear a veil in church. One church I went to I got the impression they weren't acceptable. The pastor was a former Catholic. I was told the hair was enough for a woman to cover her head. I was told this was because in the days of early Christianity in Greece and surrounding countries the pagan temple prostitutes shaved their heads to advertise that they were prostitutes... so Christian women had to have long hair. Another church I went to, someone got upset because a man was wearing a hat so I guessed I shouldn't wear anything like that. Well, I still like the idea of covering my head in church. Maybe I'll just start doing it and see if anyone wants to tell me not to.

Bible verses of the day:

"We are not like Moses, who put a veil over his face so the people of Israel would not see the glory, even though it was destined to fade away. 14 But the people’s minds were hardened, and to this day whenever the old covenant is being read, the same veil covers their minds so they cannot understand the truth. And this veil can be removed only by believing in Christ. 15 Yes, even today when they read Moses’ writings, their hearts are covered with that veil, and they do not understand."
- 2 Corinthians 3:13-15
